Dark days for Batman

Ferrier Hodgson has set about recovering monies owed by a failed Australia Post contractor Batman Couriers

Parcel delivery firm Batman Couriers has ceased trading and is under administration.

The Victorian company, which delivered parcels for Australia Post, collapsed late last year, with accountancy firm Ferrier Hodgson now in charge.

The company was placed in receivership after owing the State Revenue Office $563,000 in unpaid payroll tax.

Ferrier Hodgson was appointed on November 20 and had closed the business on the same day.

It has sold all 60 vans and is still collecting outstanding debtor amounts which will be distributed to creditors, partner Brendan Richards says.

“The employee entitlements remain outstanding and we are in the process of verifying what is owing to employees,” Richards says.

“We hope to be able to make a distribution payment within the next couple of weeks.”

The company’s monthly loss was about $30,000 per month.

It previously delivered parcels exclusively for Australia Post.
