Donnellys driver takes pride in squeaky clean Kenworth

The Kenworth T409 SAR Joshua Davis drives for Donnelly’s Garden Supplies looks as fresh as a daisy.

Big trucking events like the Tooradin Truck Show & Tractor Pull offer a good opportunity for operators and drivers to present their rigs in the best possible manner.

That’s where Owner//Driver found Joshua Davis, who had brought along a Kenworth T409 SAR truck and dog owned by Vicorian-based Donnelly’s Garden Supplies.

“This is the first time I have taken the SAR to Tooradin,” Joshua says.

“I wanted to clean it up properly and show it off.”

The SAR is one of five trucks that make up Donnelly’s Garden Supplies fleet. There are a couple of truck and trailer combinations that carry bulk loads and then there’s the rigid trucks that deliver material direct to customers.

Joshua’s job is to supply the depot with material and deliver bulk loads to Donnelly’s Garden Supplies customers, which means securing products from different suppliers.

“I get to go all over the place, to quarries as far as 400km away,” Joshua says.

“I’m doing something different every day, going to different yards, meeting different people. This is a top little job.”

Tooradin is a good day out for Joshua to catch up with mates and show off the Kenworth.

“It’s pretty clean under the bonnet,” he beams.

The rig is essentially a huge billboard advertising sign for Donnelly’s, so Joshua says he tries to keep it looking good.

“It’s a reflection on our business,” he says.

“We take pride in the way our company is represented.”

For the record, the Donnelly’s T409 SAR Kenworth earned a runners-up prize in the Best Tipper 1 to 3 Years category at Tooradin.
