Australia's road transport community got together to celebrate the 21st annual National Road Transport Hall of Fame reunion in Alice Springs last weekend.

This year’s event saw 69 inductions into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame, with NSW-based Radford Transport’s father-son duo Gary Radford OAM and Stephen Radford OAM named the 2016 Icons of the Industry for their contribution to the industry.

Over 450 people attended this year’s event, which featured an annual Cummins Cup race meeting, Transport Women Australia Breakfast, an entertainment program by the Drum Atweme group, and the Shell Rimula Inductee Gala Dinner.

"The reunion is a wonderful opportunity for drivers from all over Australia to come together, support the award winners and inductees, and celebrate a lifetime of dedication to the trucking industry," National Road Transport Hall of Fame CEO Liz Martin says.

"It’s an extremely emotional ceremony as we acknowledge the trials and tribulations each driver has faced on the road, sharing their stories with family, friends and peers, and together with Shell Rimula, we wholeheartedly thank them for their ongoing service over their lifetimes."
