Police search for Picton vehicle arsonist

A series of vehicles have been damaged in a suspicious fire in WA’s south-west

Police in Western Australia are on the hunt for an arsonist after a truck fire was discovered on a commercial property in Picton over the weekend.

According to the police, the fire, which damaged a number of vehicles to the tune of $200,000, took place on Saturday evening before 10pm.

Located on the South West Highway, near Giorgi Road, the property had a number of vehicles parked in a line and it is believed one of the vehicles was set alight, which then spread to the neighbouring vehicles.

A prime mover, a flatbed truck, and an Ag Spreader were damaged in the blaze.

As part of their investigation, the WA police are searching for a male driver who stopped at the scene who they believe may have information to assist.

They are also looking for anyone with information that may have seen the events of the evening.
