NatRoad hits regional areas for CoR awareness

Events aim to encourage industry members discuss their challenges with their peers

The National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) has kicked off its regional trucking summit program with a public session in Dubbo, NSW.

The industry association highlights the need for businesses to understand their responsibility to manage risks associated with their activities in accordance with the changes to the chain of responsibility (COR) rules under the National Heavy Vehicle Law (NHVL).

“Safety is everyone’s responsibility and as an owner of a trucking business you need to understand the impacts this could have,” NatRoad chief executive Warren Clark says.

“From the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator presenting on chain of responsibility, Roads and Maritime Services (NSW) providing an update on enforcement policy, to current modern award proceedings and the General Contract Carriers Determination, attendees will receive the latest information on safety and compliance.”

Clark says the summits will offer opportunity for industry members to raise their concerns, ask questions and network with industry members facing the same challenges.
