Trucking Australia registration OPEN

Registrations have now opened for Trucking Australia 2017 - the industry event giving operators, industry members and state associations the opportunity to participate in developing the trucking industry’s policy plans and priorities.

Trucking Australia 2017 (TA 2017) is set to be held for the first time in Darwin, on Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 June 2017.

Program topics this year include preparing for the future, ensuring safety, maintaining
industry viability and chain of responsibility obligations.

“At TA 2017 we aim to listen to state and industry led member associations and will build on their knowledge and to our overall membership offering. I urge all our state and territory member associations to attend and have their say,” ATA CEO, Ben Maguire, said.

“As the peak body for trucking operators, the ATA has developed a program focused on key industry issues.  Our aim is to facilitate constructive forums for operators to express their views and actively participate in shaping the trucking industry’s policy agenda. Post-event feedback will highlight attendee input and is key to seeing the outcomes of discussions turned into industry action plans,” Mr. Maguire said.

Many sessions include panel discussions and open forums so that the flow of information is two-way and allows for the best exchange of current issues and potential solutions.

The chain of responsibility due diligence training is a formal two hour professional development course giving attendants a full understanding of their obligation in chain of responsibility, and a certificate of attendance.

TA 2017 includes working lunches and a formal dinner, with awards, an auction and a gala night with opportunities to relax and network with other industry members.

The National Trucking Industry Awards will recognise achievements of members across several categories.

TruckSafe will also acknowledge long-standing members while the Kenworth Legends Lunch will provide entertaining and insightful stories from the industry over the decades.

“The ATA team look forward to seeing you in Darwin. We invite you to join us at ATA 2017 and share in celebrating the success stories of this proud and vital industry. By working together, we can shape the future of the trucking industry and ensure its viability for all,” Mr. Maguire said.
