Cummins South Pacific Scholarship applications open

Entries for the 2017 Cummins South Pacific Scholarships are now open!

Under the scholarships three people will have the opportunity to attend the Australian Trucking Association’s (ATA) Trucking Australia 2017 conference in Darwin to share their suggestions on how to improve safety or business viability in the trucking industry.

The competition is open to all Australian trucking operators and their employees.

To enter, tell the ATA in 100 words or less what you think could be done to improve safety or business viability in the trucking industry, and what you would bring to the table at Trucking Australia 2017 and the theme of preparing for the future.

The three best entries will receive a trip to Trucking Australia 2017 to share their ideas, including:

  • one full delegate registration;
  • three nights’ standard accommodation at an appropriate hotel and
  • one return economy air fare to Darwin from any Australian capital city.

“I urge everyone who has a great idea about how to improve the industry’s safety to apply for one of these scholarships and share these ideas with the world,” Manager On-Highway Sales & Support, Cummins South Pacific, Scott Alexander said.

“Although these scholarships are open for all Australian trucking operators and their employees, we particularly encourage those who are in ATA member associations to apply.

“These applicants will also be also eligible to attend Belinda Moore’s special workshop on ‘the future of membership’, which has priority access for members of the ATA,” he said.

Entries must be submitted via email to ataevents@truck.net.au by 5pm Canberra time on 31 May and will be judged by the experts at Cummins.

The winners will be announced in the ATA’s Friday Facts newsletter on 9 June 2017.
