Young driver questioned by reporter after bridge accident

A truck became stuck under the Boomerang Street railway bridge in Milton yesterday morning, resulting in road closures and train delays.

The 25-year-old driver told a 7 News reporter, “no comment, it was an accident,” after he was questioned about the incident.

The company was also named and Queensland Rail Executive General Manager Citytrain, Nick King, suggested the truck’s speed may have been a factor.

“The lorry was moving not massively fast, but certainly wasn’t trying to creep through.

According to reports the driver was fined $2,270 and lost six demerit points following the incident.

Crews spent six hours clearing the truck from under the bridge before repairs were made to the truck.
