Move follows shortcut ban trials between Rocklea and Wishart
Trucks weighing more than 4.5 tonnes using the Brisbane Urban Corridor between Rocklea and Wishart as a shortcut have begun receiving infringements, Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Queensland has announced.
This heavy vehicle access restriction is in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A ‘No Truck’ sign is shown on the route as per Queensland road rules.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras are in use on this corridor.
The ban period follows a trial of the ANPR technology that commenced in October 2018, following concerns regarding traffic and congestion in the local neighborhoods.

Heavy vehicles (excluding motorised caravans) cannot access that route without a local destination within the corridor.
In an ANPR camera detects a vehicle, the fines can total up to $130 and three demerit points for individuals, or $652 for organisations.
Operators should plan their journey along the Logan and Gateway motorways, TMR advises.
