East Coast Transport Legends Reunion: Trip back in history

At this year's National Road Transport Hall of Fame reunion in August, many of the East Coast Transport greats will make the pilgrimage to Alice Springs for an overdue catch-up

Organiser of the East Coast Transport Legends Reunion, Bobby Dale, says the idea was born over a few beers with an old mate.

“It was myself and Bobby Swan, we were sitting around having a beer and came up with the idea of it,” Bobby says.

“We decided to have East Coast Transport, all the employees and anyone involved, to the reunion at the Hall of Fame for a catch up.”

Bobby reached out to Owner//Driver, to try and find many of the drivers out there who may not be aware of the reunion.

“We’ve only got a handful going at the moment, but we want to try and find more people – there are a lot of old blokes like me who may not see the Facebook event.

“This is going back to the 70’s when there would have had up to 300 guys driving for East Coast Transport!

“There are some that can’t make it, but if you can it’ll be worth heading to Alice for – the whole episode in Alice Springs is about bringing the drivers together from all over Australia,” Bobby says.

Bobby has urged anybody involved with East Coast Transport to call him on 0428 995 196.

Here’s to a great reunion!
