Logistics provider in integrated supply chain management deal
Qube has lauded its procurement of the Shell Australia Provision of Integrated Supply Chain Services contract, which has been awarded for the next five years.
Qube Energy’s contract will include service provision for the Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility, QGC and Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) operations including supply base, port and logistics services in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
“Qube’s diversified experience in complete supply chain services in the oil and gas market and logistics services ensured Qube was best placed to deliver Shell true operational integration and safety standards that matched Shell‘s high standards,” the company says.
Qube says it will target local employment to fit its strategic policy to minimise transient workforces, with its partnership with the Clontarf Foundation to focus on developing indigenous employment throughout Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

The tender listing noted the contract includes warehousing and supply base operations, multimodal transport services, port access and port related services (stevedoring), wells and exploration, logistics support for areas include the Surat Basin (Dalby, Miles, Chinchilla, Wandoan areas), Darwin, Broome, Gladstone and Curtis Island.
The QGC scope of warehousing, transport and associated services comprises of the following key elements:
- 6 warehouses/supply bases management and operations (incl. labor provision)
- Multiple well site, rig locations, remote laydown facilities
- Domestic freight and linehaul operations (incl. water haulage, dangerous goods and chemicals)
- Planning and coordination of freight and warehouse activities
The current Prelude Scope comprises the following key elements:
- 1 supply base management and operation (Darwin, NT)
- Ad-hoc Broome operations
- Domestic freight and linehaul operations
- Planning and coordination of freight (incl. port operation and air freight services), warehouse and yard activities
