NTI extends counselling assistance in Victoria

Insurer to offer free support to Victorian transport and logistics workers impacted by lockdown

Specialist freight transport insurer NTI is offering free counselling to frontline industry staff workers feeling the impact of Victoria’s lockdown.

The initiative is open throughout September and October to truck drivers, cargo and warehouse personnel through NTI’s its trauma counselling and employee assistance service provider, Assure Programs.

NTI insures more than 14,000 customers and businesses across Victoria and CEO Tony Clark, who is experiencing the lockdown first-hand, notes that the counselling sessions are “a continuation of NTI’s commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of those who keep Australia moving”.

“It has been a very uncertain time and we want to show those in Victoria that we are here to help,” Clark says.

“We know lockdown is affecting everyone differently and we would encourage anyone who might need assistance to reach out.

“For many, it will be the first time they are accessing support like this, but we want them to know that support and a listening ear is there for them.

“Sessions can be conducted via phone or Skype and are, of course, completely confidential.”

NTI already offers counselling support to customers following a claim but wants to extend that reach to all Victorian customers, as well as Victorian insurance partners, across NTI’s entire brand and product portfolio.

Recently the firm was announced as a top-tier partner of Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds, the not-for-profit foundation focused on delivering better mental health outcomes in the road transport and logistics industries.
