Road closures continue due to extreme flooding in NSW

Flood warnings and road closures are still in place this morning in the North Richmond/Windsor/McGraths Hill/Wilberforce area around the Hawkesbury River, along with landslide damage affecting Wiseman’s Ferry Road further north. 

Putty Road between Colo Heights and Milbrodale is also closed due to landslides. 

North-west of Newcastle, there is flooding and closed roads along the Hunter River from Darlington, through Singleton and Whittingham down to the Golden Highway, which is also closed between Range Road and the New England Highway. New England is closed between Kelso Street and the Golden Highway. There is also extensive flooding closing Elderslie Road between the New England Highway at Branxton and Mitchell’s Flat.

There are also extensive road closures and flood warnings around Maitland, Telarah and Cliftleigh, with a high chance of further rain falling today.

North of Newcastle Tomago Road is closed between Graham Driver and Masonite Road, while, south of the city, Budgewoi Road between Noraville and Budgewoi is closed and the bridge over Wallarah Creek at San Remo is still closed.

There are currently 74 evacuation orders in place across the state and 36 evacuation warnings.
