The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has officially renewed a rest exemption notice managing fatigue for livestock heavy vehicle workers.
The Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Queensland (LRTAQ) has revealed the NHVR Livestock Welfare Work and Rest Exemption Notice has been renewed.
From February 10 onwards, the notice will be in place until it expires again on February 9, 2029.

This exemption applies to drivers of fatigue-related heavy vehicles carrying livestock, allowing flexibility around certain work-time requirements when additional time is needed to manage situations where livestock welfare is, or was, at risk.
The notice is available on the NHVR website here with the LRTAQ encouraging members to familiarise themselves with the updated notice to ensure compliance.
