The Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Queensland (LRTAQ) has announced it has launched its first emergency response trailer to respond to any livestock transport incidents.
In late May, the LRTAQ revealed the purpose built resource will address any safety matters involving livestock transport vehicles.
Coming equipped with portable yards, a loading ramp and essential tools, the trailer will help manage animal welfare while protecting public safety and minimising disruptions to key freight routes.

Based in South East Queensland, the truck will support cattle movements to major abattoirs and is built by industry, for industry.

“It is a practical step forward in how we respond when things go wrong on the road,” the LRTAQ says.
“A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the launch, and to our panel sponsors, members and supporters who helped make this project possible.
“This is a major step forward for our industry and we are proud to lead the way in emergency preparedness and animal welfare.”
