The Queensland government has this week made major announcements about the 2032 Olympic Games, with key road infrastructure receiving funding for upgrades ahead of the global event.
With events ranging from south-east Queensland through to the far north, the state has announced a sweeping range of funding boosts to prepare the state for the Games.
The Bruce Highway will be central to this, with Queensland Premier David Crisafulli revealing the road’s $9 billion investment to upgrade it between Brisbane and Cairns will be delivered in time for the Olympics.
“This is a plan that builds for our future, ensuring regional communities continue to benefit for decades to come,” he says.
