The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has advised that mass restrictions will be in place this month for oversize overmass (OSOM) vehicles on the Bruce Highway.
The restrictions, starting on October 20, will be in place for OSOM Heavy Load Platform vehicles with a limit of 12 tonnes per axle line on the Bruce Highway at Raglan Creek Bridge.
TMR says general freight vehicles (for example, B-doubles), Special Purpose Vehicles (for example, heavy mobile cranes) are not impacted by these restrictions.

Some low-loaders, particularly those associated with windfarm moves, may exceed the 12-tonne-per-axle-line limit.
Operators of such vehicles must refer to the Condition of Operations Database (COOD) for specific details and ensure compliance with the set conditions.
Access over Raglan Creek bridge will be allowed under permit with load restrictions and set conditions to ensure the continued integrity and safety of the structures.
Heavy vehicle operators requiring permits for travel or with existing permits travelling this section of the Bruce Highway, must refer to the Condition of Operations Database prior to their journey for current operating conditions to ensure compliance.
TMR says equipment has been installed to support the live monitoring of all approved loads to facilitate compliance and safety. Restrictions are implemented to maintain ongoing safety for all road users.
If companies fail to follow strict conditions, TMR says permits will be revoked. To help reinforce this messaging and the need for compliance, TMR will undertake targeted communication with key vehicle operators.
