Mercedes-Benz Trucks has revealed that it has handed over its first series-produced eActros 600 trucks to customers in Germany.
The first customer deliveries come after series production began in late November, with Mercedes-Benz expecting to handover around 50 models by the end of the year.
The majority of the battery electric truck models produced in the first few months of series production will be sent to branches and dealers as demonstration vehicles.
“With its 500km range as a 40-tonne truck without intermediate charging, the eActros 600 is a real gamechanger for the electrification of long-distance transport,” Mercedes-Benz Trucks head of marketing for sales and services Stina Fagerman says.

“With its very high energy efficiency, the eActros 600 will also be profitable for fleet operators. The fact that we are now handing over the first series production vehicles to our customers is a very special milestone for us and our customers in the transformation towards sustainable freight transport.”
In Germany, the first nine customers to receive the eActros 600 this year include August Gschwander Transport GmbH, Blue Känguru GmbH and Brummer Logistik GmbH.
After buying the eActros 600, these customers received benefits from the German Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport courtesy of its policy promoting light and heavy commercial vehicles with alternative power sources.
The high battery capacity of more than 600kWh means the eActros 600 can achieve a range of 500kms without intermediate charging, This range is achieved under practical conditions with a gross train weight of 40 tonnes and can be exceeded depending on the driving style and route, with Mercedes-Benz saying the model can cover more than 1,000kms per day.
