Hino Australia has issued a recall for nearly 10,000 units of a popular model range due to a manufacturing defect.
The notice impacts 9,168 units of Hino’s 500 Series FC2A, FD2A and FE2A trucks are impacted in the year range of 2018 to 2024.
Due to variations in wiring harness routing in the affected models, there is a possibility that the wiring harness insulation may wear due to contact with the engine and chassis.

In the worst-case scenario, safety hazards may include the wiring to short circuit, resulting in electrical damage and a potential fire.
This may lead to serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users, as well as damage to property.
It is advised that vehicle owners should contact their local Hino dealer to arrange an appointment to have the repair undertaken, free of charge.
