Netstar celebrates 30 years in business

NetStar

Netstar, an industry provider of vehicle tracking and recovery solutions, is proud to announce the celebration of its 30th anniversary. This milestone marks three decades of innovation, trust, and dedication to making roads safer, simpler, and smarter.

A journey of trust and innovation

Since its inception in 1994, Netstar has built a legacy of innovation and reliability. The company has continuously evolved, integrating cutting-edge technology, data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to deliver industry-leading telematics solutions.

Netstar’s impact extends beyond business operations. The company invests in the communities it serves, harnessing the power of data, technology, and human ingenuity to solve real-world problems.

From the everyday to the epic, Netstar is committed to protecting its customers’ most valuable assets and saving lives daily.

Grant Fraser, Netstar’s group managing director, highlights the transformative impact of data analytics on fleet management.

“By harnessing big data, we can offer actionable insights that enable companies to improve driver behaviour, predict maintenance needs, and reduce downtime,” he says.

“These data-driven decisions are crucial for maintaining efficient operations and ensuring fleets run smoothly. The ability to foresee potential issues and address them proactively is a game-changer for the industry.”

Remarkable achievements

Fraser highlighted several key milestones from Netstar’s incredible journey:

  • In 2001, Netstar began its global expansion and now operates in Australia, South East Asia, Italy, and other regions.
  • Netstar has seen significant subscriber growth, reaching over 1.8 million subscribers today.
  • The company has significantly increased its production capabilities, now installing over 52,000 units monthly.

Netstar continues solidifying its position as a leading telematics service. It is scaling into new markets and products through partnerships and integrations, including new OEMs such as Kinto and UD Trucks.

Partnerships with Toyota have driven further expansion into Southeast Asia, and the collaboration with Here Technologies has been extended into the Asia-Pacific territories. Netstar has also developed the industry’s first fleet co-pilot with Microsoft.

Looking ahead

In today’s competitive economic climate, transport companies must optimise delivery routes and minimise fuel consumption. Telematics systems’ real-time data and insights enable transport companies to streamline operations, reduce fuel costs, and ultimately enhance profitability.

This technology has proven invaluable in helping businesses remain competitive while managing their fleets more effectively. The future of telematics in South Africa looks promising, with Netstar leading the charge towards a simpler, safer, and smarter tomorrow.

As Netstar celebrates this 30-year milestone, Fraser expressed deep gratitude to the company’s loyal customers, valued suppliers, and dedicated employees. He emphasised that their trust and support have been the foundation of Netstar’s growth.

With a renewed commitment to excellence, a passion for innovation, and a steadfast dedication to safeguarding what matters most, Netstar looks forward to achieving even greater heights in the future.
