New overtaking lanes stretching 4km along the Western Highway in Victoria will be unveiled before the end of the year.
Infrastructure and Transport Minister Anthony Albanese says construction is expected to begin later this month and be completed in November.
He says two 4km-long dual overtaking lanes will be constructed to the east and west of Pimpinio and are among the eleven the Federal Government is or will be installing.
Victorian Transport Minister Terry Mulder says the lanes will complement the recently completed overtaking lanes at Dimboola, between Nhill and Kaniva and west of Kaniva.
“Once completed, these new overtaking lanes near Pimpinio will give motorists and truck drivers extra opportunities to pass slower moving vehicles safely,” he says.
