After trading Austria for Australia, the new managing director says he’s excited to get to work.
Manfred Streit, the new managing director for Scania Australia, has arrived in Melbourne after moving from his home country in Austria.
Streit has served as the Country Director for Scania Austria since 2016. He first joined the company as Dealer Director in 2008 after working for Alcatel and Renault.
Streit has had a lifelong interest in trucks and transport; while studying business and commerce he worked as a truck driver in the university holidays.
The new managing director says he is excited about the move and about getting to know the Australian market.
“Scania in Australia has a very solid base – thanks to 12 years of growth – that I plan to build on, assisted by a very experienced executive management team. I can see there is a lot of depth among our local Scania family, and we will work together to develop further innovations and services for the benefit of our customers,” Streit says.
“Although Austria and Australia are far apart, customers all over the world value the same critical business elements: respect, credibility and being a reliable trading partner. I am proud that Scania lives these values, just as I am proud to be part of the continuing story of Scania in Australia.”
