Night pavement strengthening works to impact Bruce Highway traffic

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane along the Bruce over the next month, with works starting overnight this weekend

Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has announced pavement strengthening works will begin on the Bruce Highway this weekend, reducing traffic to single lane.

Starting on Sunday January 18, the works will get underway on the highway around the Mill Road intersection in Edmonton, with works expected to be completed in mid-March.

The works are part of the $9 billion Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program that is funded on an 80:20 basis by the federal and Queensland governments to address community feedback on the Bruce Highway’s condition.

The works will be carried out at night, with crews onsite between 6pm and 6am, while no works will be carried out from January 23 to January 26 due to the Australia Day weekend.
