With Tropical Cyclone Alfred now arriving on shore in south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales, the NSW Nationals party has activated disaster assistance, including freight subsidies.
The assistance is now live in 15 local government areas in northern NSW, with the help including providing freight subsidies for primary producers to help transport livestock and fodder.

On top of this freight support, people in towns such as Ballina, Byron, Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Nambucca Valley and Richmond Valley can get assistance with emergency accommodation, essential items, structural repairs and restoring damaged public assets.
Small businesses, primary producers and non-profit organisations can also get concessional interest rate loans.
