The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has advised numerous closures will soon occur across the Toowoomba Bypass throughout March.
From today, both southbound and northbound lanes will have restricted access from 9pm to 5am between the Warrego West Interchange in Charlton and the Toowoomba Cecil Plains Road Interchange.
The approved detour is through the Warrego Highway and Troys Road, through Toowoomba Cecil Plains Road and O’Mara Road back onto Warrego Highway.

Between Toowoomba Cecil Plains Road Interchange and Gore Highway Interchange, restricted access will occur from tomorrow and all through March, with the Gore Highway being part of the approved detour.
The Toowoomba Bypass will also be closed on eastbound and westbound lanes between the Mort Street Interchange and Warrego East Interchange at Helidon Spa on March 21 and 22, with specific heavy vehicle restrictions established.
The lane closures and impacted traffic will occur due to necessary asphalt and retexturing works, as well as other essential maintenance work.
“We are continuously monitoring, assessing and reviewing our roads, bridges and culverts across Queensland,” TMR says.
“Conditions can change quickly, particularly due to weather. Restrictions are implemented to maintain ongoing safety for all road users.”
