Ahead of the Keep the Sheep election campaign convoy that will travel through Perth’s CBD today, organisers have called for all participants to “be respectful”.
The convoy will go ahead this morning, with spokesman Ben Sutherland reminding all participants to be at their checkpoints at 7am by the latest for a 7.30 start.
When it gets underway, the series of trucks, utes, cars, buses and potentially tractors will descend on Perth from four main starting locations – Neerabup up north, Mundijong down south, Bedfordale out east and Fremantle in the west.
“With the election set to be called this morning for May 3, we need everyone to help us and remain respectful while doing so,” Sutherland told OwnerDriver.

“We need Labor to know they’ve destroyed a viable industry and we want voters to put them last when it comes to voting in order to save our rural towns.”
The Keep the Sheep movement has urged all convoy participants to help “make national headliners and tell voters to put Labor last”, vowing to run a “family-friendly” and “peaceful” convoy with campaign messages.
For other truck operators, Main Roads WA has warned there will be significant traffic disruptions, including on the Kwinana and Mitchell Freeways and the Reid, Stirling, Canning, Tonkin and Great Eastern Highways.
