Paccar Australia has had to issue a recall for 1,197 of its 2018-2023 Kenworth T360 and T360A models over a potential braking fault.
Citing a manufacturing defect, the vehicle’s air system may experience a delay in charging the front brake circuit which could result in a loss of braking performance of the front brakes.
The notice reads, “a warning lamp and buzzer will activate in case of low brake pressure.”
Luckily, rear axle and trailer braking are not impacted by this issue.
According to the notice, affected units are not compliant with Australian Design Rule 35/06 – Commercial Vehicle Brake Systems.
Paccar urges owners of affected vehicles to immediately contact their preferred Kenworth dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
