Pacific Highway closed, services delayed as flooding hits NSW

The closure of the Pacific Highway in Taree due to flooding is seeing linehaul movements on the east coast experience delays

A key freight route is closed in both directions while one operator has revealed its linehaul movements have been delayed as flooding continues to severely impact the mid north coast of New South Wales.

Late yesterday, Transport for NSW confirmed the Pacific Highway remains closed in both directions between Purfleet, near Taree South, and Coopernook, due to flooding.

The flooding is heavily impacting the Taree area, with there being no word on the road being open.

Transport for NSW is urging all drivers, including heavy vehicle operators, to not travel through flood affected regions.

“Delay your travel. If you must drive, you will have to go via a different route,” Transport for NSW says in a social media post.

“Never drive through floodwaters. If it’s flooded, forget it!”
