Penske Australia and New Zealand has announced a new leader of one of its leading brands, with Western Star receiving a new head.

Aaron Camilleri is the new head of Western Star in Australia and New Zealand, leading the strategic direction, commercial operations and brand development of one of the nation’s most iconic heavy-duty truck brands.

Camilleri will look after business growth, strengthening dealer partnerships and ensuring customer-centric innovation in a competitive and evolving transport industry.

“Since Penske launched in the Australian market over 12 years ago, it has been exciting to see the expansion of the business as well as the prominence it has brought to our industry,” Camilleri told OwnerDriver.

In my discussions with Craig, the Penske difference was clear. From commercial vehicles to defence to energy solutions, Penske commitment to customers is unwavering.

“Since the Western Star X-Series launched locally almost three years ago, the range has clearly proven itself to be a winner – both with customers and having been awarded Truck of the Year Australasia. I am incredibly excited to have joined Penske and to head the Western Star brand!”

Camilleri comes most recently from Velocity Truck Centres, where he was the general manager of south-east Queensland. His experience also involves being Daimler Trucks Gold Coast’s general manager and Scania Australia’s national account manager in the mining and resources division.

Penske Australia and New Zealand executive general manager of on-highway Craig Lee says the brand is thrilled to welcome Camilleri.

“Commencing with us on Monday, he brings vast transport industry experience, having held several senior general management, operations, and sales roles with Scania Australia and Velocity Group,” Lee told OwnerDriver.

Aaron is a highly regarded and passionate transport industry professional, and I look forward to the energy and leadership that Aaron will bring to the Western Star brand and to our organisation.”
