Hino scores parts and service double

Hino Australia continues stranglehold on Hino's international parts support awards, with twin victories in latest round of judging

Hino Australia continued its stranglehold on Hino’s international parts support awards, with twin victories in the latest round of judging.

The world-wide awards cover the previous Japanese financial year, ending on March 30, with Australia taking out the Service Department of the Year and Spare Parts Department of the Year categories.

Although the Spare Parts award is new for 2009, Hino Australia has won the Service award the last four times it was presented, in 2004, 2005, 2006 and now 2009, after a break in judging in 2007 and 2008.

Hino Australia’s Product Support manager Greg Bleasel says the awards reflect the company’s commitment to support its customers.

The evaluation criteria for the service award included the number of mobile workshops in the network, the ability to provide 24-hour breakdown assistance to customers, service retention rates and workshop activity

“The parts award was based again on the quality and integrity of our reporting, as well as stock holding, supply rate, logistics and the speed of order cycles we offer dealers. This includes the placing of orders by air and sea on a daily basis. Our regular order cycle contributes to our 95 per cent plus parts supply rate,” Bleasel says.
