Reduce engine idling with limiter

New idle limiter may help operators cut emissions and improve fuel economy

August 28, 2009

With engine idling recognised as one of the key areas for cutting exhaust emissions and improving fuel economy, the new Flight Systems Model 277 Idle Limiter could be a very popular new product release.

Compatible with both ECM and non-ECM controlled motors, the Model 277 limiter comes complete with a pre-set five minute timer, with the option to reduce this to three minutes or stretch it out to 10 minutes as the circumstances require.

For fleet operators, the Model 277 can eliminate millions of engine revolutions per year, having a positive impact on service intervals, while also keeping the engine running for catalyst regeneration.

The optional temperature sensor stops engine from idling for more than the pre-selected time only when outside air temperatures are between 5° C and 30° C, although this can be factory adjusted to meet specific requirements.

The Model 277 is available in either 12V or 24V format, and is compatible with either manual or automatic transmissions.
