Isuzu's Taylor next president of TIC

Isuzu chief Phil Taylor named next president of truck manufacturers' lobby the Truck Industry Council

September 21, 2009

Isuzu chief Phil Taylor will be the next president of the truck manufacturers' lobby the Truck Industry Council (TIC).

TIC CEO Tony McMullan says Taylor, the Chief Operating Officer for Isuzu Australia, is "passionate" about the truck manufacturing industry and extremely well credentialed to hold the honorary position.

"Phil Taylor has supported and been involved with TIC operations for a number of years, most recently as vice president," McMullan says.

Taylor says he is looking forward to the role and promoting the "many positives" of the Australian truck manufacturing industry.

"Australian truck manufacturers working together with major component suppliers have a good story to tell the public, government and the industry," he says.

"This is why we as a Council have clearly positioned our industry as being the builders of trucks that are safer, greener and essential for the important role of carrying the nation's freight task.

"Unfortunately, these factors are lost on the wider community; as President of the TIC and together with representative members we will work hard to address this and continue to identify areas in which our industry can make further improvements for the benefit of all road users."
