November 18, 2009

Boral Transport’s fleet engineering manager Merv Rowlands has won the 2009 Craig Roseneder Award at this year’s annual Technical and Maintenance Conference.

The award recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop.

Rowlands has been in the industry for 28 years and played a key role in Boral’s project to commission the first compressed natural gas (CNG) engines for agitators in Australia.

He has also been involved in developing leading-edge trailer designs and also sets specifications for the 1500 heavy vehicles used by Boral nationwide.

As part of the award, Rowlands will attend the American Trucking Association’s Maintenance Council early next year and be given $1500 in spending money.
