Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation announces largest delivery of hybrid trucks outside Japan – to Australia’s Star Track Express

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has announced its largest delivery of hybrid trucks outside Japan – to Australia’s Star Track Express.
The express freight company, with headquarters in Gordon near Sydney, is scheduled to take delivery of 25 vehicles by the end of March.
“Building on the success of the Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid in Japan, we are now expanding into the international markets,” says Dr Albert Kirchmann, President and CEO of MFTBC.
“We are delighted to deliver our Canter Eco Hybrid trucks to one of the leading transport companies in Australia. This order proves that our customers appreciate high-quality and cost-efficient vehicles that are also environmentally friendly.”
The first order for Fuso Hybrid trucks from a customer outside of Japan was received by MFTBC in October 2009. The 10 Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid trucks have since been delivered to the Electricity Supply Board, which is Ireland’s biggest electrical utility.
Since the launch of the Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid in July 2006, MFTBC has sold more than 800 of the vehicles in its home market of Japan.
Already one of the top hybrid trucks in Japan, the Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid is now rolling to success worldwide.
The light truck’s parallel hybrid system significantly reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
