October 18, 2010

Fuso Trucks is recalling models of its popular Canter range after discovering a potential electrical short in the wiring harness.

The models affected are the FE83D, FE84D and FE85D trucks, due to water infiltration of the wiring harness for the hydraulic ABS brakes.

In the recall notice, the problem is described as being "Due to the improper location of the ABS hydraulic unit ground wiring harness on affected trucks, water may infiltrate resulting in corrosion within the wiring connector".

To fix the problem, Fuso is urging operators to contact an authorised dealership. The harness will be replaced free of charge with a modified version.

The Fuso Truck and Bus service department can be contacted on 03 9566 6228 for more information.
