Hino dealer motors into Warrnambool

Hino operators in regional Victoria start to see fruits of company’s expansion plans with opening of new Barry Maney Hino dealership in Warrnambool

Hino operators in regional Victoria are starting to see the fruits of the company’s expansion plans with the opening of the new Barry Maney Hino dealership in Warrnambool.

The dealership is the first new truck dealership in the township, roughly halfway between Melbourne and the South Australian town of Mt Gambier.

Barry Maney Group director and truck sales manager Jim Cornolo says the new dealership, which opened on November 18, is responding to the district’s need for a higher level of customer service for truck sales and parts.

“The feedback from Warrnambool people has been very positive and they appreciate having a truck dealership for the first time,” Cornolo says.
“This is also great for the Warrnambool community, as we are employing locals to fulfil truck and parts sales roles.”

As well as boosting the local transport industry, Cornolo predicts the dealership will have an ‘incremental’ effect on other businesses in the town.

With more than 150 people attending the opening of the dealership, Cornolo says the upgraded 700 Series prime mover, now using the proven ZF AS-Tronic automated manual transmission was a popular exhibit.

Cornolo says it allows the driver to ‘concentrate less on the needs of gear-changing and more on his surroundings and road, and on manoeuvring while maintaining optimum fuel efficiency, even in a stop-go operation’.
