Scania V8-powered Euro 6 trucks on show in Brisbane

Truck maker will display models across three ranges at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show.

Swedish truck maker Scania will unveil its V8 range of Euro 6 engines at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show.

Scania’s display stand at the show, which starts on May 14, will feature prime movers from its P-series, G-series and R-series.

The R-series display will include two V8 Euro 6 models, the R580 and the R730.

Both prime movers are the first V8-powered trucks in Australia to be Euro 6 compliant.

Scania’s stand will also be used to promote the company’s customer service program, dubbed the Scania Total Transport Solution.

“We aim to expose show goers to the concept of Scania as a total transport solution provider,” public relations manager Alexander Corne says.

“We are not at the show just to expose the product, but to enhance prospective customer understanding of how our efficiency-oriented services may contribute positively to their operational profitability.”

Scania will also show off its on-board fleet management solution and driver training program.

The on-board system is a dashboard touch-screen display that allows drivers and the operating base to communicate via text messages and respond to job scheduling instructions. Driver logs are available to the operating base and touch-screen interactivity is locked when the truck is moving.

Scania’s driver training program, called Scania Optimise, provides a series of driver assistance sessions to maximise fuel efficiency.

The Brisbane Truck Show runs from May 14 to 17.
