Dashboard app gives truck drivers the information they need
International Telematics' ibright DRIVE app.

International Telematics has launched ibright DRIVE, a single in-cab dashboard app for the transport industry’s Android-equipped drivers.

The New Zealand company behind the app believes it will provide drivers with all necessary information in an easy-to-use layout, while also minimising distractions.

Operating on Android version 4.2 or newer, the ibright DRIVE dashboard can run on smartphones and tablets and also integrate third-party applications.

Available for download on the Google Play store, the app offers a number of features for the transport industry including driver messages, job workflows, driver vehicle inspection reports, hours of service, driver-initiated forms and engine information when connected to the ibright black box via Bluetooth.

It can also link to emails and Google Maps and can facilitate verbal communication to minimise driver distractions.

"Our objective was to develop a solution that ensured real-time communications in-to and out-of the cab, while reducing complexity and minimising distraction for the driver," International Telematics CEO Guy Colglazier says.

"ibright DRIVE is incredibly intuitive and ensures drivers now have a single point of in-cab reference for various applications, from job workflow, electronic logbooks, transport management systems, alerts and notifications, as well as email and navigation apps."

The app has been trialled in New Zealand and the US over the past three months and has already got the attention of Toll's NZ operation.

"We have already received numerous pre-launch orders and are very excited about the success of ibright DRIVE," Colglaizer says.

"For example, Toll NZ took part in the trial and as a result has now started rolling out DRIVE capable devices to parts of its NZ fleet."

"We believe our focus on continuous improvement for fleet operators and drivers, has us well positioned for future developments to build on the ibright DRIVE system."
