Isuzu Australia has announced an addition to its ‘ready to work’ range – the NNR 45-150 AMT Vanpack.

Boasting a GVM of 4,500kg and an Isuzu 4JJ1-TCS engine capable of producing 110kW @ 2,800rpm and 375Nm @ 1,600 – 2,800rpm, Isuzu says the NNR 45-150 AMT Vanpack truck is a truck built to take the compromise out of last-mile freight transport.

Isuzu Australia chief engineer, product strategy, Simon Humphries says Isuzu developed the Vanpack in response to feedback from Australian businesses, specifically engineering the truck to suit drivers transporting goods in urban environments.

"As logistics increasingly demands shipments delivered to customer’s doors, the NNR 45-150 AMT Vanpack means operators won’t have to compromise when they’re looking for a vehicle that can carry a lot but is nimble enough to navigate narrow, metropolitan streets," Humphries says.

The truck boasts an Australian designed and assembled 18.5 cubic metre body, featuring four mounting points per side, double rear barn doors, rear grab handles and non-slip rear steps. It also has LED clearance lights and an interior work light.

"We also expect the appeal of being able to put the Vanpack to work as soon as it’s driven out of the showroom – with the correct registration and insurance – won’t be lost on savvy business owners looking to get the most out of their equipment," Humphries continues.

"The pre-bodied Vanpack also comes with an OEM body label, so owners won’t have to worry about the hassle and expense of getting a modification plate for it."

Isuzu says it has carefully selected the Vanpack’s dimensions to ensure a combination of maximum accessibility and internal volume. It adds that the overall height allows the Vanpack to drive under bridges and other overhead structures with 3.0 m or higher clearance restrictions.

According to Isuzu, the body is specified for easy fitment should the new truck owner wish to fit a rear electro-hydraulic tailgate loader,

"The Vanpack offers high-level performance and ease of operation," Humphries says.

"At every point in the construction of this vehicle, we’ve thought about the driver."

The Vanpack comes with an Isuzu MYY-6E 6-speed automated manual transmission with torque converter and park position, plus reversing camera, a Digital Audio Visual Equipment (DAVE) unit and Sat Nav as standard, as well as safety features such as Isuzu’s Electronic Stability Control System (IESC), Anti-Skid Regulator (ASR or Traction Control) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
