TRP expands with third store

The new retailer of truck and trailer parts in Australia, TRP, officially opened a third outlet in Ballarat at the end of March.

The new store in Ballarat, Victoria, offers a one-stop retail outlet of quality-assured Parts and Accessories (P&A) for all brands of truck and trailer on Australian roads.

With a focus on quality parts at competitive everyday prices, TRP Parts caters for all makes of US and European drivelines.

It offers a genuine alternative to OEM spares with a guarantee to boot, boasting a 12-month warranty on all parts sold.

The Ballarat branch adds further national breadth to the existing TRP store national roll-out plan, complementing the locations at Burton in South Australia and Geelong in Victoria, with more stores currently in development.

The new branch is owned and operated by the respected Kenworth DAF Melbourne (KDM) dealership in Derrimut, west of Melbourne.

KDM have also been operating the Geelong store for the past fifteen months.

With about 2100 lines on hand and daily deliveries from various local and interstate suppliers, TRP are confident that they’ll be able to supply most needs off the shelf, confirming that if they don’t have a part, they can get it within 24 hours.

As local usage trends emerge, there is ample warehousing provision for this stock holding to increase further.

The TRP store’s shelves are stacked with parts that, through extensive experience and dealer inventory management, are the parts most needed at short notice by owner-operators and fleet owners alike.

A range of vendor brands, such as Eaton, Dana, Meritor and Hendrickson, are also on display on the shelves of the store, further highlighting the vast availability of parts available.

Australian TRP store start-ups are being rolled-out at an increasing pace and they will join an international network that already stands at 134 stores worldwide.

Being under the PACCAR umbrella, and positioned as a more affordable quality alternative to their premium counterpart, PACCAR Parts, TRP aims to leverage the core competencies of the parent business.

This is reflected in TRP’s commitment to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent parts availability and offering product backed by PACCAR’s rigorous testing to ensure quality.

TRP will actively seek to offer parts to suit the older-vehicle and second or even third owner markets too.

“TRP offers a wide range of high quality parts for all makes of vehicle at a price point that will suit the owners and operators of older vehicles, whatever the make or model”, said TRP National Sales and Marketing Manager John Everett.

“The TRP store offering includes our ever expending TRP range together with a full range of market leading brands”.

Inevitably, some parts will come from abroad, but a surprising number are made in Australia, according to KDM’s Fixed Operations Manager Adrian Smythe.

“For example, the TRP-branded driving lights are built just an hour or so away, right here in Victoria.”

KDM’s Parts Manager Scott Thomas notes that there are more than twice as many trailers than prime movers on Australian roads, yet parts for them are often hard to find at short notice.

TRP’s inventory includes off-the-shelf air tanks, dryers, brake shoes and valves.

In an industry where personal contact is important, TRP have made it a priority to hire retail and warehouse staff with a solid trucking background to answer the toll-free line, pick, despatch and deliver the parts their customers need.

The new store is in Selkirk Drive in Wendouree, just off the Western Highway
