Dandy Trucks Sales’ latest offering is a 2013 Western Star 5800 SS powered by a 560 horsepower Detroit Diesel DD15 engine.
The model for sale runs an Eaton Fuller 18-speed Road Ranger gearbox; and boasts a Meritor dual-drive RT-46-164GP R-Series rear axle, with X-Locks on Airliner 46K suspension. It is capable of carrying 98 tonne as a road-train; or 80 tonne as a B-double.
Dual vertical exhausts with polished stainless steel shields include a diesel particulate filter. Dual rectangular headlamps run along the sides of the bonnet.
The 5800 features a BW model BA-921 19.0 CFM single-cylinder compressor with safety valve and full-flow oil filter. Both front and rear brakes are controlled by a Wabco anti-lock braking system (ABS) with traction control.
