Axle issue leads to alert on 20 UD trucks

Inner bearing damage may result in heat impacts

 

Axle problems affecting 20 UD MKB35A and MKB35A trucks have led to a recall notice.

The issue relates to vehicles sold between February and May or June 2010.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear axle hub inner bearing may be exfoliated and prolonged use may cause further damage to other parts,” the notice reads.

“Further damage to other parts may result in local heat damage.”

Affected owners will be contacted by direct mail and advised to contact their nearest Volvo Group Australia Dealer to arrange an inspection and replacement of the inner and outer bearings, where required.
