Scania in recall for certain PGR Series units

Parking brake issues affecting 39 of the new generation trucks

 

Nearly 40 new generation Scania PGR series trucks are being recalled to fix possible parking brake issues.

Models affected are G410, G500, P280, P380, R520, R620, R650, R730 for model years 2018-2019.

The fixes will come at no cost to owners, the Product Safety Australia notice states.

“If the control handle is released and bounces back after activating the parking brake, the brake system may interpret this as a request to release the brake,” it says.

“If the park brake is released and the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of an accident or causing an injury.

“Owners can contact their Scania Dealer/Scania Branch to make an appointment to have the above campaign carried out.

“All work carried out (parts and labour) related to this campaign will be at no cost to the owner.”
