“If a fuel leak occurs, this may cause a subsequent engine fire, which could result in serious injury to vehicle occupants and other road users,” the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) reiterates.
Like those in the earlier recall, Western Star owners with vehicles in the affected range of engines identified are advised to contact an authorised dealer to arrange for the replacement of the two high pressure fuel rail feed lines and supporting hardware.
Freightliner trucks with the same engine were also subject to an earlier recall.
