Sales milestone for Hino Australia

Hino sells its 125,000th truck in Australia to food distributor Bidfood

Hino has sold its 125,000th truck in Australia, with food distribution service Bidfood Australia the recipient of the milestone vehicle.

The truck, a 500 Series Standard Cab FE1426, was handed over at Bidfood’s new facility in Richlands, Brisbane.

Bidfood currently runs a fleet of 210 Hino trucks.

“For Bidfood, the Hino 500 Series Standard Cabs are a logical choice as they boast class-leading safety, high levels of innovation and technology, while also meeting Euro 6 emission standards plus the feedback from our drivers has been overwhelmingly positive,” Bidfood Australia general manager of procurement and marketing Grant Fairlie says.

The sale of Hino’s 125,000th vehicle adds to a year that includes the launch of its new 300 Series light-duty truck and a record sales month in June.

“Fifty-five years after we sold our first vehicle in Australia, this is a fantastic milestone for Hino Australia – with a complete rejuvenation of our light and medium-duty truck line-up over the last three years, the future is bright,” Hino Australia general manager of brand and franchise development Bill Gillespie says.

The 125,000th truck was delivered by Sci-Fleet Hino dealer principal Craig Andersson, with Hino Australia business development manager Jeff Nicotra on hand to present Bidfood Richlands general manager Duncan Alderson with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
