Royan in north Queensland expansion with Truck Bake buy

Townsville truck repairer adds to Royan’s sprawling portfolio

Burgeoning transport accident repairer Royan Group has announced the acquisition of Townsville-based NQ Truck Bake.

The move extends Royan’s coverage into far north Queensland, describing Truck Bake as a respected and well-equipped family business with over 30 years’ experience.

It comprised a 3,000 sq m workshop with a new 18m spray booth and paint room and a second 12m booth, a large overhead crane and a Blackhawk power cage chassis repair system.

The business will remain under the same management.

“Their team will continue to provide the same personal service now supported by Royan’s unparalleled network of locations, skills and experience,” Royan notes in a short statement.

Royan’s network now has 11 branches across both Australia and New Zealand and a team of over 275 staff, with its NZ expansion and several other purchases coming on the back of its link with private equity firm The Growth Fund.

It comes as Truck Bake is recognised as a new National Transport Insurance (NTI) ‘premium repairer’, servicing Central and North Queensland.

“Our hand-picked Premium Repairers partner with us to deliver specialist vehicle recovery and machinery repairs, underpinned by state-of-the-art facilities, utmost safety standards and second-to-none customer service,” NTI chief people and operations officer Kerrie Challenor says.

“By selecting an NTI premium repairer, customers are choosing to have repairs commenced straight away, with genuine parts, and a lifetime guarantee on all workmanship of authorised repairs.

“It’s just one of the ways NTI gets customers back up and running, on average 9 days faster than our competitors.”
