Volvo kicks off global technical challenge

Volvo Trucks along with Volvo Bus has announced that VISTA, the world’s largest aftermarket technical challenge is once again back on

Kicking off this week, VISTA (Volvo International Service Training Award) pits teams of Volvo truck and bus service market personnel (technicians, parts and warranty employee’s) against each other to help develop and improve their knowledge, skills, and ability to work as a team in workshops around the globe.

The competition starts with theory-based challenges that are issued digitally via an online web-based application and a mobile device.

Teams of between two and four service market personnel work their way through these tasks in an effort to progress to the next round.

“As we’ve seen highlighted in recent times trucks are a key part of our everyday lives,” says Richard Singer, VP, services and retail development, Volvo Group Australia.

“Our technicians, parts and service teams, those at the frontline of our workshops, play a vital role in keeping those trucks serviced and moving.”

“VISTA celebrates and rewards the skill, perseverance and ingenuity shown by people in workshops around the world day in day out.”

“It’s easy to overlook the rapid pace of technological development in modern vehicles,” says Singer.

“Our dealerships have to constantly upskill to keep up with the latest products and then put that knowledge into practice in a way that maximize uptime for our customers and to my mind that is indeed something worth celebrating.”

With a history stretching back to 1957, VISTA attracts nearly 20,000 participants from more than 90 countries. Teams from Australia and New Zealand will compete with some of the best service market personnel in the world in an effort to land a place at the global final in Gothenburg, Sweden in September this year.
