Queensland TMR and QTA develop highway heavy vehicle safety videos

The videos are helping guide truckies through recovery works at Cunningham Gap along the Cunningham Highway

The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and the Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) have unveiled two new safety videos for operators using a certain route.

As part of the pair’s ongoing engagement, they’ve developed safety videos to assist heavy vehicle and oversize overmass (OSOM) drivers navigate the worksite at Cunninghams Gap on the Cunningham Highway.

The videos are designed to steer operators to safety while they travel through the Gap.

“These videos focus on critical safety advice for drivers, including how to manage steep descents and use nearby OSOM holding bays, while bushfire recovery works continue in the area,” TMR says.

These recovery works along the Cunningham Highway are being jointly funded by the federal and Queensland governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
