Riordan Fuels founder and managing director Robert Riordan has announced he is retiring from the business today after 60 years of service.
He will take a step back from the company’s operations in a decision made in great health, giving him tome to successfully transition the management of the business.
In his place, general manager of fuels Brent Squires, chief commercial officer Mark Lewis and Riordan Group managing director Jim Riordan will lead the business.

In a letter to customers, Riordan reflected on his time at the business since founding it in 1965 when he bought the Shell Distributorship for south-western Victoria and his first service station in Colac.
“Our locally owned, family-operated business will continue to serve you well, and I thank you for your patronage over the years,” Riordan says.
“I wish you all the best in your business endeavours.”
In his time at the helm, Riordan Fuels has become one of Victoria’s leading fuel distributors, with the company having an unmanned tank and bulk distribution network across Victoria and southern NSW.
Riordan’s own career has been glittered with achievements, including receiving an Order of Australia Medal for his contributions to Australia’s fuel industry.
