Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has provided an update on the state’s Pacific Highway major freight route, revealing that there are plans for a temporary closure this month just days after it was reopened following a crash in Coffs Harbour.
Over the weekend, ABC News reported that crews removed a truck that caused 14 hours of holiday traffic pain.
Emergency services attended the highway at Park Avenue in Coffs Harbour’s CBD after a truck was involved in a collision.
Now, ABC says all lanes on the highway have reopened for traffic.
But, TfNSW says the highway will be closed at Korora on Sunday October 20 for heavy vehicles.
As part of the Coffs Harbour bypass project, heavy vehicles won’t be able to use the road from 12AM to 3AM.
Instead, TfNSW encourages heavy vehicles to park up in rest areas or truck parking bays before they get to Korora, just north of Coffs Harbour.
During the temporary closure, parking will also be provided for heavy vehicles unable to avoid the work area.
